Deleting your account and data
Applies to the Seempathy mobile app (com.seempathy.mobile) and to your account on seempathy.com.
You can delete your Seempathy account at any time. If you can still sign in, the fastest route is from inside the app. If you have lost access, use the form at the bottom of this page — you do not need an active account to request deletion.
Delete directly from the app
Open the app → Profile → Settings → Delete account. You confirm your email and password, and deletion starts immediately, without waiting for a reply from us.
What gets deleted
- Your profile and account data: name, email, phone, photo, preferences, active sessions and notification tokens.
- Your private journal, treatment plan and goals, including the encrypted content.
- Your conversations with your therapist, from your side of the app.
- Your mood history and your PHQ-9 and GAD-7 assessment results.
What we keep, and why
A few categories cannot be deleted on request, because the law requires us to keep them. They are anonymised — they stay in our systems without being tied to your identity.
- Invoices and payment records — 10 years (Moldovan Tax Code, art. 134).
- Your therapist's clinical notes — 5 years from the last session (Moldovan Health Code, Law 411/1995).
- Audit and security logs — 5 years.
How long it takes
The account is disabled immediately and you can no longer sign in. Personal data is permanently erased after 30 days — the window in which an accidental deletion can still be reversed if you write to us. Data under a statutory retention period is anonymised at the same time and removed automatically once the periods above expire.
How we handle data in general is covered in our Privacy Policy.
